Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr stieg der Wert aller importierter Weine um 2,95 Prozent auf fast 1,2 Millionen Euro. Ein Minus von 6,25 Prozent im Vergleich zum gleichen Zeitraum in 2007.

Spanien legte um + 4,62 Prozent, Portugal um + 9,03 Prozent und Österreich um + 7,86 Prozent zu. Der Gewinner aber ist bei weitem mit +14,34 Prozent Südafrika, das sich als einziges Land behaupten konnte.

Vor allem Italien leidet unter den Folgen der Weinskandale, die am Anfang der ersten Jahreshälfte bekannt wurden. Ein deutliches Minus von 10,91 Prozent unterstreicht das verlorene Vertrauen der Verbraucher in italienische Weine.
